Done........and Gone!
Finished the '65 drag 202 last year, and intended to have some fun with it, but fate stepped in and offered me a choice...keep the Comet or buy a beautiful ' 69 Mach 1 like I had in school...can't afford both :( Long story short, the Comet went to Canada, but I thought I'd upload the last pics of he...

hi riser
Looks like a nice setup. I wouldnt be overly concerned about the bent pushrod ; if you've got a big cam and like to buzz the motor, this IS gonna happen eventually All it takes is a hiccup.

260 mods
I havent done a 260 in years (too busy with FE's), but if I remember right, you are limited to a .030 overbore, and 1.88 intake valves for no clearance issues. Aftermarket heads would be an awesome way to build hp, but finding a set with less than 1.94 intakes may be an issue. Don't go overboard wit...

oil pan
Using the 9 qt pan, puts the sump very close to level with the bottom of the headers. My Comet sits very high in the front (nostalgia drag look), so ground clearance is not an issue. I had the dropped center link made because I was originally going to run a 428 with a stud girdle, which adds 1/2" to...

Crites headers
Hello, I have a set of the Crites FE headers for my '65 202 (auto), and they have been test fitted. Although at first glance, it appears they will not fit, they actually fit nicely. You will probably have to trim the corner of the engine support bracket that Crites uses (very minor, just round off a...

3.8L Supercoupe motor swap
Hello, If you don't have this drivetrain, I have a COMPLETE 1991 T-Bird supercoupe, that runs and drives well (blower was replaced w/ factory rebuilt 2 years ago). I would consider offers on the whole car (body is not very nice, but the car pulls strong rubber in 2 gears 8) and creates 10lbs of boos...

Are you going to run a steel wheel? I had my chrome 15x8 steelies offset 5" so they would tuck under my 65's wheelwells, and I dont have the Crites spring kit. The centers were cut out, pushed out re- centered, trued and rewelded. It cost me 80.00 at a local shop. I have 26x10.50x15 slicks under the...

202's
Hello I prefer the 202 bodystyle myself, just because they tend to be more rigid. Other than that I could go either way. Snake.

Hi riser parts
I know what your talking about; trying to find an uncracked set of hi riser heads might be a project, they were VERY prone to cracks. the intakes I do see from time to time, are you going with duals or the oddball single four? I considered going that route with my Comet, but at the time I ha...

Crites kit
Nice score Thunderkiss, The quality of the kit is good, the directions are pretty vague, but it's pretty straightforward. Measure twice cut once Need any pics, let me know, or check the photo gallery i've got more coming. Snake.

steering stops
I just made some out of bar stock steel (1/4" x 1" wide), and drill 2 holes in each so that they bolt to the strut arms. This seems to work fine on my Granada front end, I just turned the wheels lock to lock and trimmed the stops to where they needed to be.

Crites kit on Ebay!!
For anyone who may be contemplating a big block swap, or A/FX car, there is a unused Crites shock tower kit on Ebay right now. #230112107410. Bidding was only at 50.00, last time I checked. It's 365.00 from Crites (w/front springs-- this kit is spring delete). Thanks, Snake.

straight axle
I know a guy with a 65 Falcon drag car, he used an early econoline front. And I saw a 63 falcon at a show, again with an econoline axle, but with front discs. Never did get to ask him what he used for brakes, but it would seem that a '60s econoline van could be a good donor. Hope this helps, snake.

control arms
Tweaked.... yes I used stock lower control arms, i also have Granada discs on it. Anyone who has a 6cyl car like mine should be aware that you must fab up longer tie rod adjuster sleeves, if you have a v8 car, the ones from Crites kit will work fine. It appears that the control arm position moves ou...
