Re: 1964 Comet Ute
Fred, its the most docile car to drive, just like a stocker, anyone could drive it, but push it past half throttle & it makes boost & then it revs real quick, its great on a trip on the highway too, good fuel economy & quiet John

Re: 1964 Comet Ute
bit of an update on the Ute, I have been chasing a few bugs with it fixing little things, it had a temp problem which ended up being head gaskets, I had the engine out to fix that & only just put it back in recently, I finally got it tuned yesterday, I was surprised, I knew it went well, but now I k...

Re: Track Report
Pop, you`re right, no use having the cars if you don`t want to pay for fuel & they were built to drive not sit in a shed !!, fuel here is much more expensive that over there too, the Comet just beats the truck in fuel economy, I get about 10 - 11 mpg in the truck Roger, your comet is pretty cool, I ...

Re: Track Report
Roger, I wish mine was that light, mine now weighs 3700 lbs without me in it, its a bit heavier now I fitted the roll cage & more sound deadner, but it is more of a street car than race car, haven`t raced since feb, car is still on the truck, hope we can get some passes in soon, hoping to try a coup...

Re: Break-In Oil
I agree with Pop, good idea to use running in oil, the oils are so good now that without using running in oil without all the additives the rings wont bed in, i have had that trouble before & had to pull the engine apart again & rehone it, also dont have the engine sitting idling too much without ta...

Re: Another Aussie 64 Comet Build
good to see it motivated you a bit, will be good to see another Comet on the road here, I bought my rubbers from the Rubber Connection in Melbourne, Jeff & Heather are good to deal with & stock good quality bits, I bought all the rubbers from them for my truck, ranchero & comet, they have the clips,...

Re: 64 racer down under
its a pretty impresive car & he drives it well, I have known him for a while, he has just pulled out of that racing bracket recently, i think it might have been getting a bit expensive, a few years ago he broke an axle at the Sydney track in testing, he rang me to see if I had a spare, so I dropped ...

Re: Cooling fan blade
I always run a factory Ford steel 6 blade fan on mine, I have fitted a 16" electric in front that only comes on when it needs it, whenever I have taken the steel fan off even in winter the electric doesn`t seem to cool mine enough, mine is 13:1 comp & I sometimes rev it to 8500rpm on the track I hav...

Hi Roger, Phil did well with the big Falcon, its a nice car & hes a top bloke too, just missed out on a 7, he did a bit of damage trying to get it, think he ran a 8.1. John
