Thanks for the information. That's what I was looking for.

If that's the rubber between the shock plate and leaf I would install new while it's apart.

I've read on various forums it is a direct fit. The leafs and shock plates should all work back but not having one here to measure I thought I would see if anyone else has done this and what are the gotcha's if any.

No V8 original just trying to gain some wheel space.

64 Caliente V8.

Thanks for posting this. I plan on a mechanical fan if possible. I don't have my radiator yet but I will keep what you have done in mind.

It appears that by going with the 302 ho motor I have lost about an inch clearance from the old 260 engine. The water pump is just a tick longer on the 302. The new radiator is about .5 inch thicker also. I think if I use a .5 to .75 fan spacer and the slimline flex fan I will have maybe .5 to .75 c...

I was wondering if the 4.5 to 4.75 inches between the water pump face and the radiator mounting surface is about right? I have a mid to late eighties 302 HO / 300 hp with the reverse water pump for a surpentine setup. Just doing some measuring to determine what type of fan might fit? Looking at a 2 ...
