driver side inlet radiator
Hey gang - I've got a radiator in my '61 that fits & sits like stock but has a driver side inlet, passenger outlet. Was in there when I bought it. It's OEM from something. Height/width look right, mounting holes for Comet were drilled about 1" lower than teh original locations on the brackets. Any i...

Re: inside mirror swap
To clear up the confusion, the 61 unit is like the mustang - it is not the same. See below https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JJGav3E-xsM/Uio4WR1Q9bI/AAAAAAAAADY/pn5x0T5f8jw/w640-h480-no/Comet+mirror.JPG I expect I'll never find this part with nice chrome so should maybe convert the mount to mustang...

Re: inside mirror swap
I'm with lip ripper ^ the '61 Comet mirror & arm is not compatible with the Mustang one, wish it were that simple.
I'm due for a headliner and may look into 'converting' to the mustang one, cheaper than a rechrome.

My '61 s22 has a mirror arm just like this. Any idea if there's a suitable repop or any interchange? I'd hate to pony up to rechrome...

How to: padded dash removal
The option dashpad was great in its day, but I'm not aware of any aftermarket options and yours like mine is probably in bad shape. Underneath there’s likely a painted metal dash in great shape, that can be uncovered without paint work and in about 90 minutes. Here’s the steps I took to remove my da...

60-61 parts inc body panels
apologies to post this both here & FS, just trying to help out the brethren looking for parts. In the next month I'll be looking at a few 60-61 shells for parts, that I've gotten leads on, around here and down south If anybody has something they're looking for, give me a shout or post up. Maybe I ca...

vent window hits side mirror
The driver's side mirror on my '61 is positioned directly in line with teh vent window opening path, I can open the vent window maybe 1/2" before hitting it. Looks original, rectangular mirror setup, no indication it's ever been moved/removed. Anyone else run into this? I figure to simply move it fo...

could have sworn I saw a red partout on craigslist recently in your neck of the woods. The one I recall was at Auto Kraft in Lincoln NE, it's in good shape but it'll cost you some dough to ship eh

Indeed, they probably sell the best 'chrome paint' you'll find. it'll still be laughable next to the real thing, don't do it. Even old pitted rusty chrome has character

'61 trunk lid measurement
need to figure out if I can fit a '61 trunk lid in my Honda Element - don't have one in front of me to measure. If anyone can take a measurement it'd be appreciated
Otherwise, knowing the car is ~72" wide and ~195" long, I'm guessing 52" wide, 45" long and 8" tall to cover the curve at end....

2dr door swap 60-63
My '61 2dr driver door could use some work. Should I restrict my search to another 60-61 door, to avoid messing with the upper/lower trim holes on a '62-63? Filling the lower trim holes from a later year isn't too bad if the uppers were a perfect match. If the swap means both filling old & making ne...

Re: 1960 comet parts
I'm scanning for parts for my '61 daily & will post good partouts in the "ebay finds" section. I also have a guy shipping me some trim off a '60, once I know he's legit I'll post his contact info. Not sure what he's got for frontend stuff. Do you happen to know the interchange, will later years fit?

Re: bow type headliner install 1962 comet
OP did you do this, how did it go for you? I've read about putting hanger & map light screws in beforehand, so you can locate them afterwords to do cutouts. Instructionals make this look pretty easy, aside from having to pull windows. Am curious on the relationship of C pillar trim R&R & headliner, ...
