Re: Alt conversion & radiator fan removal/elec replacement

When I first got my 62 S-22 back in 85 it had the generator on it. It would be fine for a few months and then I would have to replace the generator. After doing this 3 or 4 times I found a FoMoCo alternator in the junk yard and installed it with a new voltage regulator. Have been driving the car for...

Rear end gears

I have a 1962 Comet S-22 with the 170 six and MercoMatic. I have owned the car since Oct. 1985. I have overhauled the car and put in new interior and done my own paint and body work. Now I know that this car is not a hot rod by any stretch of the imagination. 80 mph is top end on it. Is it possible...

Wow! I have a 62 S-22 with the 2 speed auto. Wish I had a 4 speed manuel in my car. I get 22 miles to the gallon with my car, wonder what I would get with a 4 speed? Steve "Psycho" Miller

Also have new u joints in new driveshaft. Fixin to put new tranny mounts on the rear of the tranny seeing as how they are ...

Bad vibrations, it ain't tha Beach Boys!

I have a 62 S-22 with the 2 speed automatic. I had the tranny rebuilt about a year ago. The last couple of months the car has developed a vibration that ranges from severe to mild. When I am accelarating the vibration is sometimes severe and then once I reach cruising speed it settles down to a mild...

I live down here in beautiful downtown Dead Ridder, er DeRidder actually. Louisiana that is! I bought a 1962 Comet S-22 back in Oct. 1985. Had it a couple of years. Drive the car all the time and just recently drove it down to Cruising the Coast in Gulfport, Miss. It has the 170 six and 2 speed tran...
