Re: C-6 install
Don't over think this. It doesn't take that much fabrication. We stuck a 460-C6 in a 65 with really just a small amount of work where the firewall bends back to the tunnel. Original type carpet fit,and room for a mechanical radiator fan. Headers will probably be an issue but if you can get a couple ...

Re: AOD swap
I really don't think there will be much of an issue. Nothing like this is ever a direct bolt on deal but the AOD isn't that big. Not the toughest trans Ford ever made but the net is full of mods to make them stronger. In the 90s,guys ran them in turbo Fox cars with huge power,200 mph in 1/4 mile. ht...

Re: Re-Wiring Diagram?
No regulator required if using a G3 or some type of 1 wire alternator. Guys consider that an upgrade unless looking for originality.

Re: '65 with 351c/C6 install question
Not a Cleveland but I stuck a 460 with a C6 in a 65. I probably could have gotten by with shock tower mods but went with a M2 conversion instead. I had to put a couple small pie shaped patches in the tunnel but nothing drastic. The original type carpet fit fine.

Re: Diode in 3-Wire Alternator Activation Wire
The only time I have seen where a diode may be needed is when using some type of MSD box as pointed out in the instructions.I did find that out to be true on one occasion when the motor continued to run with the switch off.I have never needed a diode on any OEM type wiring setups.

Re: Borgeson install
Going through the same thing with a guy's 67 Fairlane. He did the cutting according to Borgeson instructions. When I came on the scene, the joint he had was half way through the fire wall and when the box was bolted up,didn't line up with the column. Borgeson suggested using shims behind the box to li...

Re: Ballast Resistor Wire
If the resistor wire is bad, goes to zero volts. The voltage with switch in the run position should be 5-7 like you said but 12v in start position only by way of a coil bypass to the fender well mounted starter relay, solenoid. If 12v in run, resister has been bypassed or the relay bypass wire has been c...

The kid isn't quite as talkative as the old man was.I talked to Jim a couple of times at the Columbus swap.Very interesting guy with some super cool stuff on display.I did buy a few things and wish I would have bought more.I read where they sold all the original Ford casting molds they had but who k...

Re: 66 comet is needing help
Hey,I really appreciate your desire to do it yourself but in my experience,3d printed stuff doesn't hold up in high stress, wear situations. Why go to all the work when you can buy the whole deal for 17 bucks? https://www.autokrafters.com/product/20327/clutch-equalizer-bar-bushing-clip-kit-1966-69-for...

Re: Electric Power Brakes,,?
I did a 93 Fox body big block swap with a hydro boost and rack from a 2002 Mustang GT,electric pump from a Toyota MR2.Really not to tough to do.Run the pressure line from the pump to the booster, another separate pressure line from booster to rack, merge the 2 return lines and back to the pump.Origina...

You have it right. If you put some kind of plug under the hood for temporary use,you need a jumper between the poles to run without the extra tach.

Sorry to hear about you wife,, That's a really nice Comet you have. Bet it is a handful with 600+ Welcome. Lou Yeah,Lou,it was a handful.I had a set of 10.5 drag radials on it.If you warmed them up a little,it would launch hard and fairly straight but you had to stay on top of it or you're in the d...

Re: Tach Questions
Current driven,as in tach operation, not currently driven.Had to laugh, sorry.Older Ford vehicles used current driven tachs, hooked in series from the run-start position on the switch to the positive on the coil through the resistor wire.I would think those old Faria's are current driven. If so,you can ...
