Re: Winter Comet Projects
We moved this fall to Alberta from Saskatchewan, so I've gotta get my 64 prepared to go thru the out of province safety inspection. So far I've found: 4 ripped ball joint boots (damn pickle forks!) Leaking/loose tailshaft seal/bushing Bad trans mount Leaking main seals Parking brake shoes Exhaust mo...

Re: Maverick rear
I used one of these rear axles for many years until I swapped to an 8.8. They work great.

Re: (65 Vert) Windshield Installation - Advice?
That's great to hear. I was going to have the local glass guy install it so I was discussing it with him. He didn't think it would need sealer. I knew he does house calls if needed so I decided to give it a try on my own. Turns out it wasn't too bad. Also doing it at home myself gave me a good oppor...

I did not. Should I have? I figured if it leaked some clear silicone should seal it up.poboyjo65 wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 8:53 pmDid you add sealer? in that groove?redhotcomet wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 8:36 pmI did the front glass using rope by myself. Re: (65 Vert) Windshield Installation - Advice?
I'm in the process of changing my rear window gasket. All the trim goes on the gasket before the glass in. The trim is a pain to get installed. Lots of window cleaner and s soft mallet to tap it in seems to work. I did the front glass using rope by myself. I've never installed glass before but wasnt...

Re: roller 5.0 help
You can use the explorer serpentine belt accessories but it does get tricky if you delete any accessories. Belt routing becomes an issue. Everything has to turn the way it's designed to. The water pump is usually reverse rotation. Easy way to tell: smooth pullies are reverse, grooved are normal rota...

Looks like a 64 with 65 fenders. 64 cali side spears and instruments. Nice work but it’s not a restoration.

Glad those lenses arrived safe Fred!
I also received my timer modules a week or so ago. Have yet to mess with them though.

Re: Lavron's '64 Build Thread
If you want a preset ride height you could install a levelling valve like big trucks have for their air suspension. Some of them have an electric dump switch to deflate them. Similar to this one but it doesn’t have an electric dump switch: https://www.amazon.com/Haldex-90054007-Height-Control-Valve/...

Re: universal joint rear
Measure cap width and diameter and go down to Napa and ask for a conversion u joint and give them the measurements. Helps if you can take both u joints with you then they can measure them. I think I have a conversion joints on both ends of my driveshaft. T5 trans to police interceptor aluminum drive...

Re: 64 T-5 Tranny swap
If you use a Mustang T5 like I did, you’ll have to cut a hole for the shifter and there is a cross brace under the floor there. Plenty of people have cut it without trouble. The shifter location is good with bucket seats. If you have a bench you way want to use an S10 tailshaft which moves the shift...

Really well should be done later this week. It’ll be the earliest we’ve been done in the 5? Years I’ve worked here. Years past we’ve been going into late October or early November. Makes for a long grind though with no rain days!
