Jokes on you guys, I can sleep in my Comet! No linen closet for me!

I just pulled off my fenders to start paint prepping them and found these markings underneath.
it appears to read 27-123 7/A W-9 and then 27-123 again. Does anyone know what this means or if it was done by the factory?
Car is a '67 Comet Voyager if that helps.

I kind of hate to say it, but the best mod for the Ford 8" is an 8.8" LOL. The axles out of a '95-'03 Explorer are the same width and bolt pattern as the Comet's 8".
