kick panels
So I just got my new kick panels for my 62 comet sedan, and they do not fit. This is the part number from Macs C2DZ-6402344-5 for 60-65. This is the part number from Auto Krafters. C1DB-6402344-5 for 60-63. They both look the same but different part numbers. Thoughts?

Re: carpet replacement
Basicly asking how to install this without screwing it up. Every thing I found calls for using the old carpet as a template.poboyjo65 wrote:Not sure what you're asking. if you buy a new carpet set they usually come slightly larger & are trimmed during installation . AFAIK.

Re: carpet replacement
Ok next question... The original carpet was garbage. How do I go about installing without having the old on as a template.

carpet replacement
Ok so the original carpet in my 62 resembled anything but. I have a new carpet to install. my main question is the placement of the gas pedal. Does it sit on top of the carpet, or do I need to make a slit?

Re: sputtering uphill
Remind me, what year Comet? The old Load-O-Matic distributors (mid '64 back) were matched to the carb, if there is a mismatch between carb and the distributor will not advance properly, they were a vacuum only distributor, not sure of the fix (can't remember) but can try and look up the solution if...

Re: sputtering uphill
ok so I swapped out the points for an ignitor package.....new plugs, wires, had the carb rebuilt, but they screwed that up by loosing a part of the linkage......has a new tank from previous owner. just rechecked the timing after installing the ignitor ignition module. still hesitates on acceleration...

Re: What first, bondo or epoxy primer on bear metal
I put the bondo on first, really don't think it matters as long as you scuff it good with at least 80 grit. If it is going to take you a few months to get it done spray the epoxy on the car, then you won't have to worry about it rusting. Matt STOP....... don't use bondo it will suck moisture out of ...
