Re: Headers on my 289 Suggestions?
I like the Dougs - but there WAS cussing. And hammering.

Re: Pulled the Boss
I had to make an aluminum spacer just like yours to T5 my 65. I've always loved the look of those valve covers; I've got Ford Motorsport catalogs back to the mid 80s, and I used to think those were the coolest things. I'd like to have a set if nothing else to hang on the wall and just look at! They ...

Re: Engine swap
The heads wouldn't clear the towers in mine, without a doubt. Changing plugs in this one is tough, I couldn't imagine the big C heads.

Re: Engine swap
My '65 has a 351w. The towers haven't been cut but it is tighter than a banjo string to change plugs. For all the headache and hassle you're better off to stay in the 289/302 family. That said, I'm putting a 351c where the W currently resides so I'm looking at a whole new bunch of problems...Should...

Re: 140MPH Speedometer
I'll look around on ebay for a rebuilt unit - are the aftermarket ones junk? Not sure if they’re junk but they’re probably Chinese so not sure about longevity. For the same price I got a clean original that was lubricated and checked. Ill try to find the seller. Edit: here’s the seller I bought min...

Re: 140MPH Speedometer
I've got a good bezel I bought off a guy a while back that I'd like to reinforce with some thin fiberglass mat and resin when I change the speedo out. Unless you've done that successfully in the past, I'd recommend experimenting on the old bezel first just to make sure there isn't any warping/disso...

Re: 140MPH Speedometer
Thanks for the replies. I rebuilt that T5 just a short time ago; changing the drive gear wouldn't be that big of a deal (compared to the complete rebuild), but I'd rather not have to roll around under it again anytime soon if I don't have to. I'll look around on ebay for a rebuilt unit - are the aft...

Re: 140MPH Speedometer
It's the drive gear in the T5 I'd like to avoid. I'm tempted to try it out, and hope I could find a driven gear that will work with it.

140MPH Speedometer
I've seen a post or two from the past concerning running the Mustang 140mph speedometer in a 65, but never saw any definitive answer as to whether it worked for anyone who tried it? My speedometer is pretty much toast, and would like to replace it with the 140mph unit, but not if the calibration of ...

Re: Wanted: 4100 Secondary Rod
Thanks. Thought about fabbing something out of a rod that runs the primary side, but not sure if I could get it right, or if bending on it might compromise the strength some. Shouldn't be too much stress on it during operation to be honest. The 2100 version is likely the same/similar to the 4100, an...

Re: Wanted: 4100 Secondary Rod
No - that's the arm the rod connects to, though. There's a primary side rod on ebay, dang it. Sooner or later I figure I'll run across one, or find a cheap parts carb. Hoping to just find that rod for now - want to rebuild the carb, but need it to be complete first. Thanks for posting that up.
