Re: Another AOD swap Question
Had a AOD in my car for a few years. I rebuilt it myself, and I must have messed something up internally, because I could never get the TV valve to work properly, it always wanted to shift early. Messed with for quite awhile, until it started puking oil out and I swapped it for a T5. Worked well on...

Re: Another AOD swap Question
I looked at the add and saw that the AOD pictured is out of a 4x4 explorer. The rear tail piece is different and I suspect the rear out put shaft is different also. I looked up 1992 Explorers and it seems the only engine put in those was a V6. So I'm not sure that this one would even bolt up to a 2...

Re: Another AOD swap Question
It does help. Thanks Tom
I found this AOD fairly close to home. https://classifieds.castanet.net/detail ... n/3368918/
Being early 90's I wasn't sure if it would be a good candidate.
I won't be racing this machine, just cruising around and having fun.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Comet running hot
Hi Rocket Yes after the first time driving. Exactly what you said. Reverse out off a parking spot and it will die. This will continue for the rest of the day at each stop. Drive or Reverse?? Idle set at 800 idle currently. I had it set higher (1100) but it just hit harder into gear and stalled also....

Re: Comet running hot
Thanks Guys Replaced the Cap and Thermostat this morning and it has made a big difference. There is still a bit of overflow after a good run out on the highway. I will hopefully get the gauges installed tonight so I will have a better idea of what is going on. My guess is a new rad will be on it way...

Between my brother and I we are trying to figure out what we actually h...
