Have a 1964 5 bolt 289, which year model f body AOD will fit and what do Ihave to do to make it work thanks

If you were going to change trans to more modern trans that would bolt to 5 bolt motor which trans would you use. thanks

Thanks to everyone for all the info. I have decided to stay with the drum brakes instead of disc since I do not have room for a booster and the drum system is all new. I have got use to them and it now bad at all. Again thanks.

How did you find room for the booster. I have a dual master cylinder already and do not have room for much more.

Are many of ya'll running disc brakes with out power booster if so does it make a big difference stopping than with the drum brakes?

Motor is 5 bolt, green dot trans is 5 bolt. I want to remove the trans and replace with newer 6 bolt trans. Was told there was an adapter that would allow me to do this.

Have a fresh rebuilt 289 5 bolt with a green dot transmission. Would like to upgrade trans. Which I understand would be 6 bolt. Is there anyway of doing this do they make an adapter and is it a good idea or not.

Would like to see pics of automatic floor shifts with bench seats. Trying to get some ideas if I add power steering. thanks

My 64 has 225 70 R 14s on front and no power steering. If I go with smaller tire like 205s would that help the steering any? OR if I went with 15s what size would help steering the most? Thanks

Every thing on it has been redone, fresh 289 rebuild w/RV cam, new brakes/lines/dual master cyl and a $3000 new interior. I still want disc on front and cragar ss wheels though.
