Hey Marc, I hope to one day drive my car up to this meet. Its about an 8 hour drive but I think it would be cool. My car could do it now with the assistance of a tow truck. :( I hope by this time next year I'll be driving it. Great pics!!

1965 Comet HT parts car

Im in search of a 65 HT that I can cut the trunk water gutter out of. The gutter is where the weatherstripping for the trunk lid goes. Its all rotted out on my car. Maybe my car shouldve been a parts car. :( . Anyway Id prefer if the car is located in So. CA. Any leads are appreciated.
Thanks.

Yeah Chris, this is the same repair as a Mustang or Falcon. Matter of fact I did it on a MUstang about 4 years ago. Major pain in the rear, but worth it. As of today Im still at the same stage as the pictures above. I decided to finish up the floor pans. The left and right front floors are solid aga...

Forward Progress

Well Im finally making progress on the 65 Caliente. I pulled the windshield, and drilled out the cowl panel. It wasnt too bad. It took my Dad and I about 3 hours, with two drills and 3 very expensive drill bits. The driver side cowl hat is in great shape, but the pass. side is done. I think some mic...

65 repo parts

I emailed Dennis Carpenter Ind. recently suggesting parts for the 65 Comet to reproduce and they responded with this: "Thanks for your e-mail. We can't help with the seat covers and door panels. However, in order to make lenses we need 2 pair of lenses (1st choice NOS - 2nd choice good used.) Also n...

Surgery begins

A couple of weeks ago I discovered that my 65 Caliente had some serious cowl rust.....well Ive decided to fix it right. Since the car isnt in drivable condition, it runs but has the interior out and other issues, I figured it would be a good time to tear into it. So today I removed the fenders, hood...

Interior costs high

Has anyone bought new repo interiors for a 65 Caliente? They seem to be awfully expensive. I think I saw the seat covers for $695 and the door panels for $300. I think the prices are Original Falcon Interior products. Will any other type of seat covers work that are close in appearance? Falcon maybe...

Hello to all!

Sup everyone? Im pretty new to the Comet scene. I bought a 65 Caliente about 6 months ago with the intention of rally racing it across Mexico (the infamous PanAm Race). Well my job kept me from going(maybe next year, but I'll have to get another car, this ones a keeper). So Im stuck with this car, w...
