Re: Comet Man

Mine are two rights and two lefts, the Mercury Man is facing forward on all wheels. I think he can get some aluminum caps pre made that have a flat surface for the face. I believe he told me $130.00 shipped. If he wants I’ll be glad to put you in touch with him. I’ll email today and let you know. Ri...

Re: Comet Man

In the infamous words "I know a guy who knows a guy" a favorite mafia saying.... I'll ask him if he can do some more if anyone is interested. CNC machines can make anything your mind can visualize. I think blank caps are available and would be cheaper to machine the Comet Man on than machining them ...

Re: One Wire Alternator

Found an old post from Roy from July 2014 where someone with a 64 202 had the same issue I have. The black and yellow wire runs back to the battery or solenoid. I have already installed everything and just need to wrap up a few more issues and the 202 will be back on the road after a several year hi...

Re: One Wire Alternator

If the black and yellow wire is still connected to the ammeter it did run to the regulator. If you can find out where it terminates that would be a big help. I thinking it has to be in the circuit somehow. I don't see how it could not be connected to something. Thanks

One Wire Alternator

My 64 202 had a Ford alternator with an external regulator that the PO converted from a generator. I want to install a one wire alternator. The PO cut most of the wires coming from the alternator to the regulator and only had one wire on the regulator. I want to install a one wire alternator by conn...

Re: Ford O Matic vs C4

I was wondering if the C4 transmission once separated from the big bell housing would bolt up to the small 2 speed bell housing and if it would fit on the 68 block. I would rather have the C4 in the 202 but I may give up and just slam a 4 or 5 speed I have laying around. Modern Speed Line makes adap...

Ford O Matic vs C4

I have a 200 from a 1968 Mustang and need to know what I have to do to bolt up either the Ford O Matic (2 speed) or a C4 I had in my 64 Ranchero that came from a mid 70's 302 car. Will the little 2 speed bolt up to the 68 block? Engine is on a stand now so just wondering what problems if any, I woul...

Re: My stable of ongoing Comet projects

Looks great. What did you use to strip the engine bay? Spot blasted all corners and crevices, used a small angle sander and DA sander on alll the large flat areas. In all it took several days but it was well worth it. Shot two coats of primer under two coats of Eastwoods under hood satin black pain...

Re: My stable of ongoing Comet projects

My 64 202 my wife wants me to rat rod. After stripping, priming and painting the engine bay, under floors and suspension, installing new brake wheel cylinders, shoes and hardware, nickel copper alloy brake lines all I have to do is install the dual bowl master cylinder, the 1968 200 CI engine and de...

Hot Rod 100

Drove the Comet convertible on the legendary Hot Rod 100 last weekend. Started in Mustang Oklahoma with a stop in Ames Okla to visit Brent Hyjek's private car collection and ended in Enid Okla for the BBQ lunch. Over 150 old cars, Hot Rod's and a few scally wags with new cars made the trek. All tota...

Re: Carb Question

After more research it is a Holley 1940 carb. I think I can find kits at NAPA, I hope, if not Mike's carburetors seem to have them. thanks for the links and help. I find the little sixes just a tad more difficult to work with as they don't seem to have the support base the V8's have. They are very d...
