Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
A little off subject but- I am kind of curious as to why aluminum radiators are so popular. Being more of an old school thinker I have always used copper/ brass radiators with excellent results. My belief is that if you design the cooling system with components that are proven to work and are compa...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
Lou your car is truly breathtaking. I bought a 25" big block radiator for my Comet and the vendor I bought it from painted the whole thing black for me at no charge. I had worries about cooling the 347 stroker earmarked for the build. Your build is an inspiration for me. It shows how to do it right...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
It's all looking great, Lou! I was the same way when I put the aluminum rad in mine. My grill is totally black except for the corral and the center emblem, and I didn't like the way the bright aluminum showed through the grill, so I took it back out and lightly sprayed the front of the core satin b...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Sorry to highjack your thread, and excuse my ignorance, but what is a residual valve? I ran all my lines on my 65 Cyclone, made brackets to use 2006 Mustang GT calipers and rotors, and just used an adjustable proportioning valve and nothing else. My brakes work great and are very responsive. I gues...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
............................. Had a friend lend me this brake tool. What a badass piece of kit. http://jcrootandsons.com/photogallery/var/albums/1964-Cyclone/IMG_2155.jpeg Same flare tool I have, LOVE it!! Flaring brake lines couldn't be easier, definitely worth the money. Did your friend lend you ...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Looks GREAT! Doug. The Camber Mod is one of the things I regret not doing to mine. The Brakes and front suspension look awesome, what wheels are you going to run? The reason I ask is I have the same brakes and I have 15x6 Cragars for the front and the spokes hit/rub the calipers. Needed to space the...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
Still fitting front end. Finished my grille emblem. Sanded and polished it, then instead of doing the red, white and blue stripes I did black so it matches the V8 emblems and other trim. https://i.postimg.cc/3NSNwSLY/DFECF926-705-E-45-F3-9144-6-AE9219-D2-E0-E.jpg When I painted my rad black I just d...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
Yes, we used the same carpet throughout the interior, with the backseat removed I wanted the area to look finished, it only made sense to continue the carpet to the base of the back glass. There is a steel firewall between the backseat area and the trunk, I also installed sound deadener throughout....

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
You have special talent Lou and your car is proof of that. Nicely done. Tom Thanks Tom, I really enjoy the build process. Your project is looking great! In reference to the package tray/ rear glass install. The package tray does not need to be in place before the glass is installed. After the glass...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
Everything looks fabulous, Lou! That trim against the black just POPS. 8) What are you using to sand/polish your bars and center emblem? Jim Thanks Jim, I start with 400/600 paper then work my way thru 1200/1500 to 2000. Then use a sears bench buffer with compounds on compound wheel and polish on a...

Nothing cleaner than a shiny black straight paint job.
Nothing dirtier than a wavy one.
