Re: Wheel Machining
Get a pro to do it Joe. have you ever had a hole go egg shaped when you tried to enlarge it? aluminum & alloys dont play nice all the time. it cakes up on bits & can have a mind of it's own sometimes. surely someone in LA has done this & does it often. Ugh thanks Johnnie.. you’re right. Ill sit thi...

Re: Wheel Machining
Joe, Just my dumb opinion but have you considered a set of steel wheels for road racing? TTDs are nice but I wouldn't try modifying them for the track. Keep a set of street tires on them, slicks on steel. Joe II I had a set and they were heavier than these aluminum ones so I sold them. I think I’m ...

Re: Wheel Machining
Machining a wheel is serious, if it is not done correctly it could cause vibration, or a disaster. A mill is the only machine to use, a drill press is not accurate enough. The inserts should be installed with a zero clearance which means the wheel should be heated and the insert cooled, this expand...

Re: Wheel Machining
Bernie at Bernie's Machine in Saskatoon Sk. could take care of you. Lol Im sure an independent machine shop with some ties to the racing community could/would help you. Check with custom wheel shops and fellow racers for leads. You know me ,Id throw those suckers on the floor face down on a piece o...

Re: Wheel Machining
By the way Costa Mesa isn’t too far from me, I looked up the machine shop from the video and it seems like the fellow in the video passed away a few years ago and the shop closed. Bummer.

Wheel Machining
Hello all, Ive noticed at the track that my aluminum Torq Thrust D wheels shed little pieces of metal every time I remove and replace them for rotating. To keep the wear even I’ll rotate them 2 to 3 times a day. Seems like the soft aluminum is no match for the steel lug nuts and the ARP studs. Cobra...

Re: Front sway bar
I used a mustang bar ,fit great. I suppose since the end links are made to articulate different angles that slightly different lengths don't matter. & the mounts fit so. here's a pic with drooped susp, end links are straight & mounts are ok; https://i.postimg.cc/bvQfHtZX/SDC14529-3.jpg Super clean J...

Re: ‘64 Falcon Track Project
Joe, I clicked on a link at the end of Omar's Willow Springs vid of another one about your car I thought was pretty cool. I like it when he takes a peak inside your 65 Cyclone and comments on how it smells original. Mine has that smell, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0N0c4iGHkg Jim Hah...

One of my buddies Omar posted this video of the day at the track. Lots of cool cars! Nice to see it from the perspective of a spectator. Sometimes I get so caught up on running the car I forget to see the cool car show happening. https://youtu.be/jUwiXM08yTY?si=Bp4qG-Tt2R5Lv4w0 Joe That is very coo...

I see. I kinda remember the styled steel wheel caps being kinda weird to attach as well.
