Well today we put some old 5 spoke wheels on the front annd i reckon it looks really cool with those and solid steel wheels on the rear. Going to give it the beat up at the drags in a few weeks so just done the heads and roller rockers as well as a new cam so the old girl is felling really good and strong now

well, let's see, last saturday waxed it for the 1st time, entered a car show sponsored by the local thunderbird club. was in the unfinished/under construction class. won best of class. lots and lots of comments and conversations about the 64. think most were impressed with the fe and 2-4's. was parked next to my friends 66 comet sleeper (stout 390 and a lot of goodies). black w/ black interior, black steelies w/ caps. looks like a cop car. anyway had a lot of fun even tho' was hot.

...drove the 65 Caliente about 220 miles round trip. From 3000ft elevation to sea level and back. Climbing hills in the 102 degree heat and the temp needle never went past about the first 3/8 of the gauge. I even had time to stop by Cal Caliente (Roy)s place and check out his cool machines.

It was a good Comet day.

I"ve been out drivin lots, nowhere in paticular, just drivin I'm sure ya understand!
Thought I'd share a couple of pics, the first ones are of a 53 ford custom which
as i understand it has been in the valley forever and goes everywhere! I first seen it
pullin a little camper all color matched in purple on the highway between Calgary and
Edmonton, about 8hrs from here.
The next ones are of a club cruise to Fort Steele, an early settlement about 2hrs from here.
The Packard has 10,000 totally original miles on it! you would believe it was as complete resto!
Everyone paid tribute to the bigwheel!! LOL We seen a bunch of Flatties around both Harleys
and Fords, musta been something goin on.
I'm preppin Sassy for our trip to Libby Mt. for their Light up the nights Fri. the 20th and show on Sat.
then it's home ,drop Marilyn and the trailer and head for Saskatoon (12hrs) for a celebration of life on Sunday.
(lost a close friend last week,,,will be putting up separate post for him as he was true car guy and
didn't want a funeral but a final car show in his honor,I'm expecting like 500 cars!!)

Nice way to send off a car guy. The last few years we have at least 1 memorial/tribute to a car guy at our races. I told my wife to spread my ashes in the burnout box.
