Compression test on the 1971 Torino 302 the prior owner claimed was rebuilt (no receipts). Looks like he wasn't lying!:

I got the race car up on jackstands and gave it the annual checkup. Compression check and leakdown test. Compression passed with flying colors and leakdown test was pretty good. However, I had a significant increase of leakdown on cylinder 4 from last year. It's been 3 years since I put new bearings in it and still on original rings. So, I think it's going to get a good going through this winter.

Son-in-law loaned me the second set of hands I needed to get my window regulator un-jambed and reconnected inside my driver's side door. Before that, we found another use for his engine hoist. :D

I deep fried two birds as well. Brined then for 3 days beforehand. I welded a giant J hook with a 4’ long top bar for lowering and raising the turkeys out of the frier with two people, to stand far enough back from spatter. It’s worked great for 5 years now.

I put my door panels back in today, duct taped up some cracks on the seats(temporarily of course), and painted the ‘arrowhead’ parts of the quarterpanels.

I took a picture of my 65 Comet out in the driveway before I took the mags and tires off for the winter. Tried to use it for my signature photo and somehow I got my son's car instead. Back to the drawing board.Image

I finally got the motor fired up yesterday. I ran out of time, but I need to readjust the valves and check a small leak. It was good to finally hear it run again. Spring is around the corner.
