Retain Column Shift?

Hi,
Originally my 67 Caliente was 289/C4 it is now 351/C6. The PO installed a Lokar floor shift (which is a little too "street rod" for my taste) but kept the OEM column.
I am wondering if anyone has a solution to using the original column with a C6. My understanding is that the C4 linkage will not work.
