66 Wiring Diagram for Radio

Post by Lakeview »

Does any one have a wiring diagram they are willing to share for an AM radio for a 66 comet. My wiring harness has been cut up over the years and can't identify what goes were into the plugs on the radio.

Black should be +12 v supply.
Blu/rd should be dial light.
The other two wires are the speaker wires should go through a 2 pin plug. One of those wires is the ground to the speaker.
Ground is through the mounting to the dash

At least on my 65. Should be the same on the comet.

There is a grey which is the light. A single black male end connector (not sure what) and a four prong plug with one make and three female (not sure of what these are)

I don't remember 66's having a 4 pin plug, only a 2 pin plug and two separate individual wires to hook up. Don't remember a grey wire either.

I have the Shop manual. It does not show the radio in the schematic's and the installation procedure says connect the antenna, connect the speaker lead, connect power lead and the pilot lead. It ain't rocket science.

From 67 shop manual, I would think it's still the same.
