Okay im going to give this photo upload thing a shot. I ran into a little issue and will be calling wilwood today, but I will go ahead and post pics up to now.

Here is what it looked like before the swap

Here is where I got when I realized I had a problem

And this is the problem, the edge of the caliper is in contact with the spindle and will not line up with the bracket....

So my question is; does the disc set up use the same spindles as the drum?

Yes. This kit is set up to attach to stock drum spindles or stock disc spindles. You do have to modify the disc spindles slightly though. Also clears 14 inch wheels

Hmm, I have a used set up that I pulled from a car that I parted out but it isn't Wilwood. It isn't stock either. How much was the kit? I have to buy another set of tires and wheels to go with what I have. (I think)

I got it for 575 from jegs. Only kit I found with aluminum calipers that fit stock wheels.

Thanks. I checked to see what I have on the shelf and it is SSBC Force 10 calipers. It looks like they are on stock spindles too as I compare them to mine. I emailed SSBC to see if I can buy kits for them since a couple of dust boots are torn. I pulled the stainless lines and proportioning valve from the donor car too. Heck they may clear 14's I'll have to check.

Yea they might. Most of the stuff from ssbc (that I could afford) required 15 inch wheels, unless it had cast calipers

Yeah thats one thing I didnt get though is a new proportioning valve. Is that a necessary part to change when going from drum to disc?

Yep. And you have a dual master cylinder now, right?

My front disks are the K-H 4 piston calipers from a 67 mustang. I think SSBC sells the same parts. Stock 14" wheels as well as the 14" rims I am using mount and clear with no problem.

I bought this kit and it bolted right up to my 65 (5 bolt spindles) with zero problems. Includes the dual master cylinder as well. http://www.chockostangclassicmustang.co ... sions.html
