Pretty good weekend at the races!

Post by 383MERC »

Beaver Springs Nostalgia Nationals. Fantastic event! Went three rounds saturday and accidently gave back the stripe to a fast car. The comet went 10.793 10.794 10.797 through the three rounds. Can't ask for any more than that. Sunday we were slower due to the weather, but she was still on the number! Went three rounds again and got hit by a massive storm. Never got to finish. Well, at least we didn't lose? Got to see Steve run his awesome red Dyno Don 65 Cyclone and got to see George run the black 65 Cyclone they just put together. There must have been 60 or 70 Nostalgia Super Stocks there. What a cool event to say the least. Mark

Great times! What was Steve's times? I heard he built a new engine for that car, or something different, I can't remember now.

BOSS-I didn't get a chance to talk to him personally. I think i saw him go about a 9.20, but i thought they were shooting for the high 8's when we last spoke. Not sure if it was detuned or maybe just not there yet. Doesn't matter to me because that car is BAD *ss! The weather was awful on sunday. So hot and humid i was over a full 10th slower than saturday. Still consistant though.

Green with envy here, I sure wanted to make the trip to Beaver Springs but life got in the way. May be next year. Beaver Bob is a good host, I visited up there a year or so ago while working in the area. Anyone have any photos??
