Man I know I'm beating this up; but I love a (parts) challenge.
Anyhow here's a link to someone restoring a 65 Mustang with a 6 and PS. There's some great pics and info for reference. A Comets PS system is damn near identical. I can't think of anything significantly different other than what's already been stated.

He got his parts from Chockostang. He still may be a great resource for engine related parts.

Thanks Joe! That's certainly a nicely documented project. The pictures make it that much more helpful.

I have a 65 Comet 6 cyl power steering center link, with the adapter link for the control valve. Only problem is......I am in Canada.

I'm glad you found one so fast. It took me quite a bit longer to find a V8 PS center link, but now I have 2 of them and a 6 cyl link.

Update! I found and purchased a PS pump and brackets and installed them last weekend. Here are some pics: http://s1190.photobucket.com/user/MattD ... t=3&page=1

Still need to find a 2-groove water pump pulley. I did find a power ram-to-frame bracket (3A652) w/ Ford p/n: C3AA-3A652. Had to order the crush nuts, install kit, and hardware for that bracket through NPD.

Like this, or is that too fancy and expensive?

Anyone know if this PS control valve (advertised for a '63 Comet) would work on a '65? I emailed the seller several weeks ago and was told that it wouldn't and that I need to find one that is '65 specific. http://www.ebay.com/itm/63-MERCURY-COME ... 36079c88fa

What about this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/64-65-66-MUSTAN ... 3604eeaf66

thanks,

Matt you might want to ask Dan at Chockostang or email Stangersite with the questions. Those guys know their stuff and are willing to share knowledge. Stangersite is hit and miss sometimes so beware.

Thanks Joe. Dan and I talked some this afternoon and he says the '64-'66 Mustang 6cyl control valve will work w/ my Comet so I'm going to get that one.
