Is there a bushing kit for the A/T column shift linkage for the '65's? Here is a pic from the '65 shop manual of what I'm describing: http://s1190.photobucket.com/user/MattD ... sort=3&o=0
Most of the kits I've been able to find are for M/T cars. I'm assuming there are 2 bushings to replace; One at the transmission manual lever and one at the column shift lever. Are these bushings rubber or plastic? Anyone have a good source for the bushings?
thanks,
Matt

Re: Column Shift Linkage Bushings
I had the same issue about two years ago. Couldn't find the at bushings, so I made some from rubber bushings and steel washers.

Re: Column Shift Linkage Bushings
Does this bushing hold the linkage on? if so I had this problem on a 70's truck. mine was wore out & the linkage kept popping off. bushing snaps in to the shift lever & the linkage snaps into it ,made from teflon or nylon (white plastic-like). I finally got one at the junkyard. the one at the trans is metal with a screw to loosen for adjustment ( i think).

Re: Column Shift Linkage Bushings
I think it kind of does both, holds it in place while also isolating a lot of the sloppiness in the shift lever.Does this bushing hold the linkage on?
