big block inline 6

Post by captian_napalm »

will a 240, or a 300 fit in a 62 comet? will the original suspension work, or does it need to upgrade to v-8 suspension?

Not easily, there would have to be some major modification for it to fit. I do think it can be done.

It weighs in between 420-500 pounds, a 289-302 around the same I believe, the 200 six is under 400 pounds (380 lbs. range) those numbers all depend on accessories etc. maybe that will give you an idea on the suspension.

The main issue with the 300 is length (plus it is heavier) and unless you want to mod the firewall it will have to stick forward and the radiator will have to move forward as well, the second issue is height but I guess it could stick out through the hood.

A turbo on a 200 might be the ticket, trust me it could handle the boost
