I am trying to Identify the B&M shifter that came in my 1963 Comet with AOD trans.
I don't like the shift knob and there is no gear pointer, or neutral switch. The shift stick has the threads for the knob cut off and ground down. The piston know is attached with a set screw

Re: Help Identify B&M Shifter
Does it have a ratcheting mode when you pull it all the way back? It could be a Star Shifter? Another thing to check is the shift pattern, the detents between the gears. Can you tell if it set up for a forward or reverse shift patterns. The star shifter is a normal forward pattern P R N D 2 L. My B&M Pro stick is set up for a reverse valve body pattern P R N L 2 D.
Re: Help Identify B&M Shifter
It does have the ratcheting mode from 1st to Drive
No pointer but it does shift in the pattern shown on the indicator

Re: Help Identify B&M Shifter
After looking at pictures on ebay it does look like a Star Shifter.
Re: Help Identify B&M Shifter
After Rechecking my shifter it is a mess. The housing tabs have been cut off and B&M site says starshifter is not for AOD trans. Time to look into Megashifter
