Still in search of.....

I am still in search of a pair of New Old Stock panels for the rear of a ‘64 Comet, these are the stamped tin panels either side of the fuel filler door next to the tail light housings. (See attached photo)
FoMoCo part number C4GY624233A40A. The part number is the same for either the left or right panel. I will by one or more if they are new and in perfect condition.
These are for my Comet, not for resale.
Thanks!
Jim

I bet the right steady hand could make these stickers look pretty good.

I have seen those and the other stickers for the headlight doors. I think they could work OK but it would take hours to install them correctly.
The issue is the tin, if they are used and have dents or nicks it is very difficult to repair then have them clear anodized. The big problem was over the years they would get hit with the gas pump nozzle that would leave its mark.
I’m still holding out for the possibility of finding NOS panels, I know it’s a long shot.

I looked through the active auctions and could find them. There were some very used sets but nothing NOS. Do you have a link?
Thanks!
Jim

Thanks for the link. He has had them on ebay for a while, they might be NOS but not as nice as I am looking for. Repairing that type of material is very difficult, then it needs to be anodized and painted black. I’m holding out and hoping to locate mint NOS. (I realize they might not exist but I’m optimistic)
Regards
Jim
