COMET CENTRAL

Well I was tinkering with Aunt Lou this morning and a fellow got out there was here for the Gathering and he ask what the schedule of events were for the week end?? I said no real schedule, I guess the first event seems to be me tinkering with mine since I seem to do more work on it in this parking lot than in my shop and it seems to be an annal event. So one event down (but I reserve the right to do it again).

Not to jynx us but the weather has actually been pretty nice this morning.

Headed that way. Be there in about 2 hours depending on traffic, Pugs.

Made it to Nashville early and we spent the day checking out the Tennessee State Museum, we were going to to the railroad museum but ran out of steam before we got there so we are in the hotel now debating what to do for food, guess we will get something and relax so we can get up early tomorrow and head east.

On my way, cruising thru Groover's neck of the woods now.

You guys have fun! Some day I'll make the trip, but I'm gonna be saving my pennies for a long time til I can do a 2500 mile road trip! I'm headed for Three Hills, Alberta for their annual cruise weekend. If I see any other Comets I'll share photos of them!

dont look like im going to make it either.i bent some pushrods a week or two ago.i got it back together but with 411 gears i dont want to turn 4000 on the highway for 2 hours to get there.i hate to live this close and not go.i have not worked in a while now.i cant afford it any way.i start drawing my retirement next february.maybe next year

Just thought of it but guess I'm too late. Cracker Barrel across the road from the Grand Ole Opry is a good place to eat. right near there is the Opry grill, don't remember if that was there when I was.

Enjoy the gathering, would love to attend someday.

Can someone actually at the gathering give a current car count? I will be back there after the ballgame.

Tall tires knock the gear down significantly.

I believe we have reached 15.

short tires make it worse.i did the calculator and with my tires,4000=65mph,and i would get run over trying to cruise at 3000.ill make it someday,hopefully soon.oh yea,i get 5 miles per gallon too,and im set up for the 1/8 mile. sorry guys theres really no reason i couldnt come if i had prepared.

Home and in the garage. Hit the rain as I was getting off my exit. Lots of cleaning up to do on the car but so worth it. Great time, great cars, and great group of people. Thanks for a great weekend everyone. Looking forward to checking out all the pics and vids.
