Liquid Petroleum Gas has been an alternative fuel for petrol driven vehicles in Australia for over 30 years. I have just converted my Falcon to run on it without losing the ability for it run on petrol. ( dual fuel )
It runs quite well albeit with a slight performance drop. Currently LPG is 56 cents per litre with petrol being around $1.30 per litre.
The installation was done professionally and the installers tried to hide much of the conversion so it would still have that classic original look. effectively my fuel capacity with petrol and LPG is now approx 31 US gallons. I'm heading to New South Wales on Sunday so I will see how far I can get on the LPG before switching over to petrol or refuelling. My dizzy is not hooked up for vacuum advance and runs static only at this stage.
LPG converter goes in as a liquid and converts to a gas.
LPG fuel gauge and fuel transfer switch.
Repainted the jack also. Looks new.
Gas tank holds 63 usuable litres (16.6 US gallons).
Flip down number plate ( sorry, that was sourced from a 72 GM/Holden product ) This gives allows the gas filler to be hidden. I didn't want to cut the panels for a side fill.
