65 comet SB to BB change

Post by rec1a2pac »

My 65 Caliente has the 289 in it, but would like to change to BB FE. How big a hassle is this change, or would I be better off to use a Windsor Stroker? Also, how much tire can we put under the back - would not be opposed to mini-tubs? Any suggestions/options greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just put 235/60x15's on 7x15 rims with -5mm offset and 3.75 BS on the back of mine. Got about 5/8" clearance on the outside and about 7/8" clearance on the inside. All but the wheels and tires are stock.

here is a good thread to look at if you want to mini tub it, & he put a pretty good size tire under it.

Jim did you take off the bumpstops? or is that what the clearance is? 7/8 ''between tire & bumpstop?

A windsor stroker would be a lot less headache,,,, much easier.
