Help Identify Ring Terminal

Post by GeneB »

I have these two terminals on my 63 Comet. Were on car when I got it last fall. Car has 302 engine with alternator. One terminal is on wire to alternator, the other is on hot wire to horn relay.
Do these terminals have some kind of component (diode, fuse) inside them or just the body of the terminal. 0 ohms between terminals at both ends of wires

Looks to me like thats the original charging circuit wire. It would have come from the generator and run up to the ammeter in the dash and then back to the starter solenoid. When the alternator was install they likely just ran a new heavier wire straight to the battery.

That makes sense. Both wires look old.
I found this picture of 1965 Mustang generator wiring
Must be just the way they covered the terminal back then
