instrument gauge bezel restoration
Im looking to have my instrument gauge bezel plastic gage panel restored ,all gauges are good ,just plastic needs refinishing ,who has had this done ?and who did you use ? 1965 comet gauge bezel
Re: instrument gauge bezel restoration
I had the gauge cluster surround refinished from my ‘64 Cyclone. I had it “chromed” which is actually a process called vacuum metalizing. It does look like chrome but it is not real durable. There is another process out there where a “chrome” finish can be sprayed on just about any substrate. https://spectrachrome.com/navychief wrote:Im looking to have my instrument gauge bezel plastic gage panel restored ,all gauges are good ,just plastic needs refinishing ,who has had this done ?and who did you use ? 1965 comet gauge bezel
If I had to do it again I would try the spectrachrome process on the gauge panel, years ago I used this process on some side light housings from a restoration I was doing on one of my microcars, it still looks OK 17 years later.
