Original Rearview Mirror Question for 64

Post by Groover »

Ok...

So I'm looking for a rearview mirror for the 64 convertible.

I see some choices at MAC's, but was the original rearview mirror a day/night or NOT day night (guessing NOT).

And while we're on this, I thought I once saw one on a 64 that was very slim in style (slimmer than this one)?

Like the side mirror's were there multiple options/styles for rearview or were they all the same?

Striving for accuracy here.

This looks like the one in my 64 Cyclone. Don't know for sure if it is original though. It was in the car 15 years ago when I bought it and looked old then.

I only have my own '64 Comet ht as comparison but mine is NOT a day/night version.

I believe the day/nite rearview mirror was an optional mirror. There were lots of options.

I ordered a day nite from FalconParts and it looks just like the one from Macs but with the little lever to put it in 'night' mode.

Either is correct.

Got the mirror. No evidence remaining on the glass as to where it goes.

Pretty sure I can split the difference left and right ;) but would anybody with a 64 care to measure the distance from the top of the glass to the mirror button?

Thanks,

Here's some measurements. Center down is about 3 3/16. The base is slightly left of center. I took the measurement from the screw that molds the visor mount. Hope this helpsImage. Jim

One more. Left of center between a 1/4 and 1/2 inch. JimImage
