Detriming my hood

Post by CometJunkie64 »

Hey guys, I ended up buying a crites ram air hood, but I feel that it would naked without the trim on the front. I had gone out to look at it and it seemed simple enough, I had grabbed my 3/8 socket and started wrenching. needless to say I ended up breaking a bolt :( any tips as to how it comes off? I looked at my comet manual but it only really covered the side trim. Help
Thanks guys,
Clifton

My 65 is held on by clips that you can get at body supply store.

I didn't go look at mine but I'm pretty sure the trim is held with spring clips that have a bolt through the hood and nut on the back.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

$140 for one sent to a commercial location (friends boat dealership). My friend and I bought two for the same shipping cost to the same location.
