1972 Mercury Comet resto-mod from ND
Just got back from a trip with my 72 Comet that sat for ten years in Cali. I will be performing a restomod on it. so will be needing advice. I am looking to find a salvageable 2015-17 ecoboost mustang for the powerplant and powertrain and all the other goodies that i can populate into the Comet. Finishing up some other projects so that i can focus on this one

Re: 1972 Mercury Comet resto-mod from ND
Thanks guys! seems the 60's Comets are the most popular, trying to find info and tech material for this early 70's Comet is difficult. i know it's mostly Maverick but the small changes that differentiate the 2 is the hardest to find, especially parts.
Re: 1972 Mercury Comet resto-mod from ND
Yea, it's always the Comet specific stuff that's harder to find!! I think there's a pretty active Maverick forum that covers the same year Comets pretty well. Love to see late/ unusual power plants in these!!
There was a local guy selling a low mileage Coyote 5.0 that kept dropping the price...harness, ecm, etc. I don't wanna chop the towers and go MII front-end in the Comet, but something like a '71-'73 'vert 'Stang or Fox 'Stang/ Capri - heck yeah!!
