COMET CENTRAL

So It's been 14 years or so (wow time flies especially when you're getting older...I'm 67 now) since I last posted in here and I still have my '66 Comet Capri (Canadian model I think). 14 yrs ago I was talking about drag racing it and that's what I did...I quit racing a couple years ago cause for me racing was a total commitment and I got a bucket list needing attention so I quit. Cosmetically the Comet don't look that great but it's good mechanically and performs pretty good as well (13.52 @ 103 MPH best 1/4 mile time). I ran in the NHRA Sportsman class at the local track. From the start I tried to keep it close to street knowing I wasn't racing forever and I'm so glad I stuck to the plan. So now I'm thinking some body work, paint, finish the interior are in order...and maybe a new Mustang II front end (or whatever is out there now) so it'll steer and stop a little better on the road. Anyways all this is still awaiting motivation which totally disappeared when I quit racing cause it was pretty hard core during the racing years and after I quit the last thing I wanted to do was think about that "thing". But I'm starting to get the itch again...I must be because I'm posting in here Anyways "Hi" to everyone old and new!

Good golly some of the old folks are still around, get busy on that Comet so you can see if you can get it "done" before me

Certainly is hard to believe 14 years but I can relate, great to have you posting and hope you make it a regular habit of coming on here and sharing with us.

Hi Mike...long time for sure...good to see the site still going and more activity than I remember way back so good on you for sticking it out and doing the behind the scenes stuff. I was an admin on our local track website so I have an idea... Thanks! But for sure I'll be here lurking and learning and sharing the little I know...

Welcome back! 14 years ago my Comet was just a twinkle in my bucket-list eye. We'd love to see some pics of yours.
