62 Cometman

Post by 62Cometman »

Hey guys, ive been watching and reading and learning for a while and finally decided to join. I have a 1962 Comet, Corinthian white, with an aqua interior that i reupholstered, it has a 170 six that i rebuilt this last winter, more of a freshining up, ball honed the clyinders new bearings and rings, NOS metal shim head gasket, relapped and ground valves, shimmed springs, head machined .060 inch and all new gaskets, speed daddy dual outlet header, full 2 inch exhaust with thrush glasspacks that dumps right in front of the passenger rear wheel. 2.77 tranny rebuilt still using same old syncros cause no one cars to make a new set, rebuilt drive shaft and 7.25 rear with 3.50 ratio, american racing outlaw II wheels with BF Goodrigh Radial T/A rubber, scarebird 4 lugs disc brake set up on the front. Custom made adjustable monte carlo bar, currently in the process of making boxed upper and lower control arms and some "nicer" tie rod adjuster sleeves using some swedge tubes and lock nuts, after a complete front suspension rehaul i plan on going over to the rear and doing the same then installing both front and rear sway bars 1 1/8 inch front and 7/8 rear then future plans are a turbo 200 with a T-5 and 8 inch rear.
62 Comet 170, dagneham trans, 2.8 7.25 rear 260 T5 8 inch swap planned for the future.

Looks great! :D only thing, it puzzles me how it has the same shaped paint chipped on both sides of lower fenders. :? But I'd say it is a few notches above a decent driver. :D

Those arent paint chips theyre rust holes  luckily i have another set of fenders waiting to be reworked an mounted, which is a shame because the fenders on the car are neigh on perfect other than those rust holes
