comet caliente straight axle install?

I'm Chris, in Pa, I have a 64 comet caliente & I want to put a straight axle in the front. I got one from a an early 60's ford falcon van model E110. I was told this would work, so I took the whole steering assembly including the steering box & column. Will this work? & Where do I begin? Any input would be appreciated.

Chris;you need to PM Dale Snoke[teddiesnoke] on here,he has a 64 with a straight axle,his Comet will be in the October issue of Car Craft.An Econoline axle is too wide,the wheels will be outside the fenders,you can have it narrowed by a professional,most guys use aftermarket axles. ROY.
