im in no hurry for that shinny paint job. as long im able im going to keep driving it and having fun. but i do keep it in running order. im so picky about the running part, like the guy who has to have a flawless paint job. i bought a new 950 ultra hp holley a couple months ago. i had it apart 6 times before i was satisfied with the jetting and power valve combos. some guys hate rust, i hate a miss or a stumble in a engine.

Re: rare 66 big block caliente
No marti report available but I think I have heard of this combo only once before. I thought to myself then, why a 2 barrel with all the other options? It seems like one would just buy the Cyclone rather than the Cali. And what I read before about one may be yours. Are you a Ford FE member? Nice ride.

It wasn't a comet ,but many years ago I owned a 67 fairlane 2dht with a 390 2bbl and a factory 3spd column shift ,and it didn't have any power steering or brakes nor did it have AC,can't help but wonder if it was rare in today's market?.......*wish I had it back now, best I recall it ran good but it wasn't what you call a killer on the streets from red light to red light but on the open road it would haul some booty all day long...good luck,,,POP

Pop, I purchased and parted out a 67 Fairlane a couple year's ago that was a 390 2V 3 on the tree. Why would one order that combo?

Nice car Fryedaddy, indeed very rare. I also had a 67 Fairlane springtime yellow convert back in the day but only a 289, wish I had it back. Looked at a 67 Fairlane convert 390 2V last year on Craiglist, too much money and too many things not right. The 67 Comet and Fairlane are really nice looking cars and especially if they are 390's.

BEATS me....maybe they were tight wads and just wanted a new car without any of the goodies......was it dark green? cause the co-worker I sold it to,had it stolen from a garage he'd taken to for some steering secter work,he never heard anything about it,again ,just his loss.....popLip Ripper wrote:Pop, I purchased and parted out a 67 Fairlane a couple year's ago that was a 390 2V 3 on the tree.
