All these great ideas you come up with that everyone wants to imitate! Homeland Security is going to be on you for trying to Raticalize us! (I'm going to do the drop-down radio, too)

Re: Raticals 65 Dash
Raticals' is a clever method to mount an aftermarket radio. Hidden but accesible.
There was no room left to hang anything under the dash on mine.
So I used an AM/FM radio out of a Maverick, installed the face from a 64 1/2 Mustang am radio on it. then radically modified the internals to get the shafts at the correct locations as well as making them longer to reach through the comet bezel.
No sign it was ever a Maverick radio with the larger face. What it looked like before being altered.
I installed an aux jack to input external audio devices through the radio. that worked pretty well to input my favorite radio station from my phone. Now I input music from my phone via a bluetooth gadget that inputs it through the fm band of the radio. No visible wires except for one to charge the phone.

Looks Great ! I really like how the black on top & bottom gives the chrome strip in the center that retro look where it swoops up around the ''old'' radio. it has that look with woodgrain too but more pronounced when encased in black. retro? retro-ish? for damn sure COOL!
console & seats look great too!
