Roy, I have run second in a lot of other stuff too
48, man you could have lived a year in all the lower ones
And had the Comet registered in every state!

Years ago I remember reading about a guy that that had a 40 Ford for 40 years
( was in one of the mags ) I thought gezz that guy has to be like 60
The old man probably just drives easy it on sundays .
Little did I know how we lose about 40 years when we get behind the wheel of those things.

I' ve put the IRS on hold. Just not up to it right now,,,
BUT, Ron, with the Comechero has given me the drive to do something else!
http://tffn.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f= ... ering+$100
I had thought about this awhile ago but the aftermarket was just too expensive.
then Ron came along with this and I've started to collect parts.
I just got the power unit, I checked the junk yards but they were already striped so I
bought one off ebay and picked it up yesterday.
I wanted to upload a couple of pics but I have forgotten my photobucket password etc.
Plus we just upgraded from windows xp to 8 so I'm in the learning process there too :|
Need to get the garage cleaned out then plan on getting started.
Fred

Fred,
I'll be glad to help you any way I can in getting yours together. Hope you didn't pay too much for the motor unit on epay. There were several in our local PNP when I got mine. I think my overall cost was less than $100.
If you can't get your PB to work you can always PM me via the TFFN site. As a matter of fact sending pics back and forth there is easier than messing with PB. I do it all the time on the other site. Sending or receiving pics through this site is not possible.
You can see some of my setup through my PB album. More on the TFFN site. And I have a few more.
Let me know what you have planned for your installation. I did mine about as simple as it gets. But my method doesn't work for all setups.
Hope you have a nice warm garage to work in. You probably need it more than me.
Ron

After a hard day of cleaning out the shop I got the column out tonight and sized up where the electric power steering unit (EPS)
will fit in.
Was ready to cut the shaft and Marilyn called, tomorrow there is no turning back :)

I don't blame Fred for making life easier on himself. I have ps, pb and ac in all my cars. Wouldn't be without them. I even have a slush-box on hand just for the day when the legs can't handle a clutch anymore. That day is probably not far. :(

Fred;I'm not giving you crap for modifying SASSY,I love it!! I drove my Comet DAILY until it became a racecar, put 143,000 on it before the swap to a Toploader killed the odometer, cable was too short, then drove it from 1973 to 1993 without all that fluffy stuff!! My wagon is manual steering, manual brakes with front discs, four speed manual transmission,if I wanted fluff,I would drive some new jelly bean, bellybutton POS!!! JMO , ROY.

Fred, Roy doesn't need power steering,he only drives in a straight line!!! And his car is easy to steer anyway because his front tires are always off the ground. Andy
