Everything is raw material, I don't throw out anything until it is totally unusable. After my uncle passed and we were cleaning out his garage and barn I picked up every bit of metal scrap I saw, I even have an old tractor drawbar that has the ends broke off, someday I will need some thick steel :P

See Ya,

thanks for the info,,,,have you ever dumped the clutch at such a high rpm and had so much traction that you broke a motor mount ??….on a everyday driven street car?
I plan to go bigger tires, 29/15.50/15s ,so ought to get decent traction . I'm hoping the big bolts that I put thru the motor mounts & intermediate mounts wont let that happen on this comet. & I was thinking back to when that hard linkage throttle hung when I decided to pin these mounts. I think it was a 72 cutlass, my first car.

this is mine, simple .
& adjustable. I can make it shorter or longer.
quick disconnect, either end.pops off with a screwdriver. the carb end has a push lock clamp that snaps on a ball . I like all that :D
If you just had the carb end of one of these linkages with same thread as your linkage .
