Dual Quad

Post by 65 hipo »

This has been a long time coming. I have wanted to put a dual quad intake on my car since I bought it. I still have a few things to come up with like the throttle linkage and a fuel line from the fuel pump to fuel log.

This is how it looked when I started

The carburetors are Holley’s 450 cfm (Holley#510-0-9776). And the valve covers are Ford Racing valve covers (M-6582-W427B). I milled the 427 Cobra out and water jetted the inserts. Thanks guys Ryan Vassel

I knew I'd never seen v covers like those. You may need to make a new set of inserts with a revised horsepower increase with the extra carb!

it all looks great,very clean!

I've had 2 500 edelbrocks on my COMET since back in the 90's,,they work great....my son turned out on a lathe my alumn fuel block and my linkage was made from 2 tenshion rods on the windshield wipers from a LOCOMOTIVE,and both my carbs are together,no progressive linkage,,and it amaze's me how this 289 will get down to such low rpm's in 4thgear and just put along and just lay into the throttle slowly and it picks up and just goes, don't miss buck or act up.....at the time I put 2 4's on mine ,all I had was a EDELBROCK intake,,so thats what I used ,,but now I have a intake that hollys will bolt on........yours looks very nice.......POP
