Anyone have any tips on replacing the headlight switch on a 61? I tried to pull the insturment cluster thinking that would make it easier, and even that wasn't as easy as I expected!!
Maybe if someone can even give me a better idea...background:I recently picked up a 4 door 61 that has been sitting for almost 25 years. I got it running already, still not good enough to drive, but enough to know that motor and tranny are both good. Now I need to fix a lighting issue. The headlights work as do the turn signals, front and rear, however, the taillights, front parking lights, and stop lights do not. The bulbs in the back were good, but I replaced them anyhow. I also replaced the stoplight switch. headlight switch??

My 62 had a similar issue. You need to release the pull knob by pushing the release button on the side of the headlight switch, then it should unclip from the fuse block. You may want to check those fuses before disassembling.Later,Heath
