inside mirror swap

Post by mikus »

My '61 s22 has a mirror arm just like this. Any idea if there's a suitable repop or any interchange? I'd hate to pony up to rechrome...

1961 Comet S22 • Mustang II & 350/350 combo • Chicagoland
Need shiny 1961 quarterpanel "fin" trim, c pillar trim, front fender sights.
Consider driver door, trunk lid, rear bumper too

If the shaft is held by an allen screw and is round with a milled flat side I may have what you need. I bought a repop for my drop top and mine glues to the windshield. Hard tops mount from the top.

Looks just like the one in my 66 Mustang. They are available from about any Mustang supplier.

That is exactly what I bought and it won't fit my convertibles. I'll ship it for $30 if anyone wants it.

I'm with lip ripper ^ the '61 Comet mirror & arm is not compatible with the Mustang one, wish it were that simple.

I'm due for a headliner and may look into 'converting' to the mustang one, cheaper than a rechrome.

That will fit mine. $60 is a little steep. Mine doesn't have the day night lever which is weird.

To clear up the confusion, the 61 unit is like the mustang - it is not the same. See below

I expect I'll never find this part with nice chrome so should maybe convert the mount to mustang if/when I do a headliner...
