I misread your post and am sorry for my confusion.comethead wrote:Sorry if the post was unclear.
I sold the Falcon I had planned to overhaul.
I still have the 65 power steering parts that I rebuilt.

Well I found these 2 pumps and a bracket in the trunk. Anything look familiar.

Re: Power steering
That is a ford thompson pump, non canted neck so won't work with ac if you had or wanted ac. the bracket is the correct one for that pump. If you ever wanted to add ac you would need the pump with the canted neck. Or use a 67 pump.fair67 wrote:Well I found these 2 pumps and a bracket in the trunk. Anything look familiar.

Re: Power steering
fair67, once you find all the right pieces it should fit together like any other ford. Have you considered doing electric steering? I did mine that way and Fred (Sassy) did his as well. We can both advise if you are interested.

Re: Power steering
I have considered that but to be honest it is a little bit pricey right now I have so many other things that need attention on this car right now. That amount of money can take care of most of them. I appreciate all your help and knowledge.Comechero65 wrote:fair67, once you find all the right pieces it should fit together like any other ford. Have you considered doing electric steering? I do have one question the interior of our comet is red do you happen to know what shade of red the dash and steel top parts of door are? It is in pretty bad shape right now and I would like to repaint it the correct color. If you dont know I can start a new thread.
Thank you

Thank you very much I just looked and found that Rustoleum makes a spray paint that they have at my local Menards. I am going to go there today and see how close it looks. Thanks again.Groover wrote:Probably Carnival Red (or whatever other name it comes under)

Check this out. I was thinking about grabbing it for my car but I want to do AC first. I have no problem with manual steering and need to focus on AC being in South Florida. I've emailed the seller and confirmed it was pulled from an I6 car. I'd recommend trying to talk them down on price though or maybe go look for an aftermarket kit. It might be a bit more expensive but everything would be new.

Thank you for showing me that it is a little pricey but it is complete. our car is a 289 wonder if that would matter.chartwig1980 wrote:fair67 wrote:I am wondering if the 64 comet power steering is the same for 65 because the car we bought has had it removed.
