Brackets on bench seat

Hi I just bought my first comet a 4 door 1964. on the back of the bench seat it has 2 brackets that look like they hold possibly a head rest but maybe not as the passenger side does not have one. Does anyone know what they are?

Can you post a picture? '64 Comets did not have head rests, are you sure they are original seats?

Back in the 60’s there were quite a few aftermarket headrests available, if the brackets have thumb screws or just the threaded holes, you have some of them. Headrests were never available on a Comet until at least 66 or 67. ( my guess on the year)
