That car is still in great shape and that guy is a great detailer.
1965 Mercury Cyclone former drag car, 1971 Boss 351 engine, 4 speed, ladder bars, etc. Now returned to a street car.

Re: 64 Durability Comet
Thank you for the pictures of a great piece of history. Anyone have any idea about the other (3)??? THANKS
Re: 64 Durability Comet
One, a blue one, was made into Doug Nash's B/FX car. I don't know about any of the others.
I once had an Anniversary Silver '64, Caliente, black interior, 260 automatic. Wish I still had it.
I tried to add a photo of the Doug Nash car but got a notice:
"Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

Nice car. Those hubcaps? Are they standard Mercury Comet? I think I have seen them on some of the Australian Fords from the mid sixties, possibly on the Fairlanes. Are the Comet wheels in this picture 14" or 15"?
If 14" I wouldn't mind a set on my Fairmont.

Another thing...that car sits kinda low. I wonder if its old springs or some kind of factory spring set up to assist in the Durability Run.

Those are the correct hubcaps, my '64 had them when I bought it from my aunt the original owner. The wheels were 14"
