I have 64 Comet factory 260, C4
It was an original car that I am taking apart to restore.
When removing the wiring harness there was no Neutral Safety Switch on the trans (and no wire to the trans) or the outer steering column. I became convinced maybe it was internal to the steering column.
I disassembled the column today and the only electrical is the turn signals and horn.
Can it be that Ford built car without Neutral Safety Switch ?
Sounds dangerous.
There is an slotted opening in the steering column. Maybe I can add a NSS?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Missing Neutral Safety Switch 64 Comet
Ford put a nss on it,,,,some one unpluged it from under hood, put a short jumper wire on the plug, removed it from side of trans.that way it'll start in any thing you put it in pop
