ram air questions

Post by FORD FAN »

How has everyone set up their carb and filter to work with the Crites ram air hood? pics would be great. The air plenum isnt wide enough for anything but a 10 inch round filter.
I have an Edelbrock performer intake so do I need to raise up the filter or get a much taller filter or fabricate a pan with foam rubber seal ? Just looking for ideas. I see how Roy did his from the Car Craft pics. Thanks,

Don;those hoods were designed for the twin 4 barrel,427s with the long.narrow air box.About all you can do is a small air cleaner, sealed off similar to mine.I used a Moroso universal kit with a K&N filter with their filtered lid.It will get cooler air to your carb even with out a seal. ROY.

Roy, Thanks. After I posted the question I had found the Moroso air pan in a Jegs catalog. I guess I'll get one of those.
